Everettweb: a tribute to Kenny Everett

Back when the internet was a toddler and building websites was a mysterious dark art, I created a tribute site for Kenny Everett.

Everettweb was possibly the first fansite that cobbled together a bunch of pics, audio and video clips of Cuddly Ken (this was long before Youtube, remember) and proved quite popular for a while, even getting appreciative visits from Kenny's family.

Created using early versions of Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver and Fireworks, it's all a bit clunky now and not entirely functional. Video clips were encoded in the now obsolete RealVideo™ (remember that?). Back then, it was quite the sleek, stylish, gad about town and received a few design accolades.

You can still view my original site. Unfortunately, the guest book is no longer accepting submissions so please don't take time to leave a comment. Having said that, do feel free to skim through everyone else's thoughts on the late Maurice Cole.

One more thing...

If you're in the market for more Kenny Everett memories, check out my radio documentary "Solid State Brain".
